If you enlarge you can see that the first of the three gargoyles has a tankard and he is toasting someone’s health!

The interesting thing is that he would have been facing towards Ansell’s Brewery, the long-gone Birmingham Institution.

Ansell's has GONE!!! How dare they Peter?

That is terrible news, the damn accountants again, running (or is it ruining) our industry.

Can I assume these gargoyles are rain water management instruments used to deflect the roof water away from the walls? And if so, is the bottom of the tankard empty?
