I lived here from 1940 to 1945. It was very different then; no running water and no drainage. I was in the choir at the church next door with my friend John Kestle. We both went to Michaelstone school next door to that. The vicar in 1940 was the Rev D Hopkin-Evans. The Americans were stationed at Druidstone House and Ruperra Castle was a German P.O.W. camp.
