very nice church :o)
It's not a curch. It's Miclauseni grange/castle
It's a bloody shame that some years ago, the nuns of the convict behind the castle have kicked the orfin children out of the castle because they wanted the castle for their own pleasure and economic favour. SHAME ON THEM. I thought that helping the poor was a thing they have to live for???
Sorry but I don't think you have the correct informations. This old castle was not an orphanage. It was hospital for children with mental disabilities.
The children was not kicked out, they was been moved to a new building was it construct especially with that purpose by Romanian governement. The children was nursed by qualified medical personnel employed by Romanian governemnt not by nuns who was not have any role in nursing childrens.
This building it an old castle (about 250-300 years). In comunist period this building suffer by the lack of the upkeep (maintenance) and become improper for an hospital many years ago.
After 1989 and the falling of the comuism, this building was returned to the right owner (about 1998-2002 year), member of Romanian Regal House. The present owner proceed to renovate the castle in order to transform it in a popular art museum.
Sorry but I doesn't have a necessary knowledge of english to explain you this with more details.
Thank you for your interes. Best regards from Romania. :)
It appears from your excellent photograph that the owners who restored the castle did a very good or excellent job.
It is exciting to see that Romania is rising up from the clutches of communism, and that people are restoring some of Romania old beauty and elegance.
Greetings from Minnesota, USA.
Yes, a very good job! But still is not finished, because of big amount of money involved in project.
From political point of view, the job is not so great, because of some chameleonic characters.
