The hills at the end of the desert road are called Comb Ridge, an amazing rock formation in the desert and canyon area of southeastern Utah.
We previously explored the nearby Valley of the Gods before heading to northern reaches of Butler Wash, and then to explore and find the ancient Anasazi ruins of Butler Wash hidden in a small canyon deep into the Utah desert.
Access was a rough on a pretty wild sand and gravel road (Lower Butler Wash Road also locally known as Co Road 262) that had only been travelled by one set of tracks before ours.
We got as far up to eight miles along the Tooth BM hills crests on the eastern side of the wash as far as the Jeep would take us, and then set out to find this great set of Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi) ruins hidden in the desert
Since there were no trails, signs, or guides to these ruins, we only had a vague description and high level map to go on. This led to one canyon, which we discovered (very lucky) to be the right one!
