5500 x 1800, 8 photos. Taken between 9:11 and 9:12 AM on the 3rd of July, 2011. Looks a bit like ping-pong ball, doesn't it? That big white sphere is a Sea Based X-band (SBX) radar for missle defense mounted a top an oil rig, apparently being ferried on a heavy lift Marlin. I have another good view of it in Downtown Seattle from Harbor Island. I might have left this out and trimmed it out of the other panorama, but there appear to be a lot of pictures of this sort of device, and it is pretty hard to miss. There was a post about it coming to town in the Seattle PI by Aubrey Cohen on the 11th of May, 2011, Massive radar could track baseball from across a continent.
Thanks for the caption info. Very interesting!
