I love this beach, specially the 60°C hot, raspy sand that burns your feet and scratches your skin, or the enourmous, erratic waves which crash your bones like toothpicks... ok, a bit exaggerated, but who cares....

Be careful swimming here, it is a beautiful but dangerous beach! I almost here drowned in 1999 when I swam beyond the second breakers and when I tried to swim back in shore. the rip tide was overwhelming and kept sucking me further out, pounding me with surf and pushing me down the coast.. The trick is to choose the SMALLEST wave to try and swim back in with..when it crashes the "back suck" is proportionatly smaller too and allows you to make headway in getting back to shore! When I finally did..the girlfriend says" I dont believe you, do it again!" lol.. So I DID! lol.. BUT THIS TIME.. I knew the trick and was able to swim out and in again with little difficulty. Releasing a baby turtle for a pint sized race to the surf was a highpoint to my visit there as well as fun AND as well as ecologically friendly. They raise the sea turtles for release. "Selling" you a turtle to race with for $10 (at the time). The winner gets a dinner for 2 at one of the restaurents in Montericco.

Gracias por tu lindo comentario Ludin, me alegra que te gusta.
Thanks for your comment Chronnik and your advice. You're right, the tide can be overhelming and one dosn't notice until it's (almost) too late.
Saludos and best regards, Marek
