YBMW - I think Mariko must have been in her screaming red phase that day, although the gaiters came from mom's old stash of stuff. But, all the better to be seen, which really wasn't a problem since we were the only ones on this side of the lake. It was a great day.
Polytropos - That would be a great "hangin' in there poster" having it turned 90 degrees. Great exposure! This wasn't quite as steep as where Mariko just came off of, being the out run, but it still has a fair slope down to the water.
Kerstin - These kids these days! Luckily the snow was soft corn so it wasn't like sliding on gravel, other wise I think Mariko would have put a fleece back on. The day was really warm and comfy, perfect for getting out on the snow and getting a tan.
Greetings Billy, Thanks for visiting Snow Camp and self arrest training. The kids had a great time playing on the snow and sliding around. The weather was very nice so short sleeves and no gloves were dress of the day (probably because her gloves and fleece were black, not red).
Hey, we didn't raise no sissy kids. We're mountaineers. We eat our Ramen noodles cold and dry. Actually the temperature had to be in the 80's and there was not a cloud in the sky, so it was very warm, except where you were in direct contact with the snow (where Mariko kept Seiji most of the time when he was near her!).
Hey Rich, one of your tags on this said 'climbing' but this does not look like climbing to me! No really though this is a great fun shot. I enjoy your photos of your family out on the mountains having a great time! One tends to feel a bond, even with total strangers, that are as crazy as they are1 Thanks for sharing. Oh and BTW I am glad Mariko commented on this. I had no idea she had a collection too. I glanced at it quickly and it looks wonderful. Bruce
Greetings Bruce, You know what they say about what goes up....just depends on what kind of fun you want to have coming back down. Yes, Mariko does have her of site and she gets in some great shots, so I have to stay on my toes. It is a lot of fun when we get out in the woods. We have an annual Glacier Basin Steak Night where we go camping and cook gourmet meals on the campfire. It is a hoot. So, thanks for visiting and I am glad you get a kick out of the kids. They can do the craziest things.

Greetings Lilypon, Thanks for visiting Mariko's slide into fame and commenting. I think the kids do have a better understanding and appreciation of the hills and I trust them to be safe out there when they go tromping about. It's fun when we all get together to go someplace and play.
