Hello , thank-you for your comments, Hagley Museum upstream has a working water wheel and a water turbine to generate electricity. The DuPont made gun power there. There is an old an old overshot metal water wheel in a state park in Maryland along the Susquahana River which still can grind corn meal. It is about an hour drive from our house. Most of Delaware's old mills have burnt or fallen down. Many towns had them, some towns had more than one. The mills along the Brandywine were larger and the were located on both sides, up and down the river.
