Shoreham museum yea! Do you know what the building was originaly? The pub next door (Marlypins) serves a great pint of Harveys best

Hi yardale - Sounds like you're a native of the area(?) Any idea how old the building is? We were in Shoreham trying to trace records relating to Charles II's escape, but we raised more questions than answers. Can you put me in touch with local lore? If we ever get back there, I'll owe you a pint!

Thanks, Inga

Ill check up on the building and reply again next week, I only live 3 miles from it and tend to sup ale once a week next door(so i should know shouldnt I!). Interestingly enough I read a book about Charles 2 escape and used to live in Henfield where there is a old house called Pendralls, he was said to have stoped there?

Interesting stuff! I hadn't heard of Pendralis, but we had a wonderful afternoon of private free-access to Mosley Old Hall, and also went to Boscobel House (site of the "Royal Oak" story where Charles hid up a tree). I can't wait to hear if you learn other tidbits of history from Shoreham. Thanks for humoring my interest. Best wishes, Inga
