This is a remarkable place. Situated high on a hill with half of the Graveyard overlooking Loch a Chumhainn and the other half having a view of a forrest that carries on up the side of the mountain.
As I walked in, I saw this headstone and so moved by it. "A Sailor" is all it said.. and a date when he was found - November 1940. At the bottom of the head stone, it also said "Known unto God"...
There were 5 other graves here for sailors... all casualties of the second World War... and only one had a name...
It is is such a peaceful spot... one, I hope, that would have been to the liking of those at rest here...
