Nice work with the shadows on the wall. I like the delicate monochome look, almost like a sepia.
Perhaps this is one that can be tagged "Harry Potter"? It certainly looks like something out of the films. I can imagine Harry and his friends being accosted by Snape in just such a place.

Thanks Nawitka. The cloisters were used as one of the locations for Hogwarts, one of the rooms was dressed as a classroom.

Beautiful picture, almost a little scary... What´s behind that door... /Thomas

Thanks Thomas. I had to wait for ages for the right light - the sun was too often hidden behind clouds - preventing the storng shadows on the wall.

As my daughter will know that I have seen the places where the next Harry Potter movie will be filmed beforehand, she will get crazy and will bother me until the movie will be on the screen!...
And all that is only... "your fault" (:-))!
All your photos are really beautiful, Matthew! Thanks for sharing.
Bye - Flavio

Beautiful shadows, nice shot Matthew! Cheers! Majlend

Thanks Flavio, I hope it doesn't cause you too many problems! If we had been local during the night time I'd have probably caught some of the actors, too.

Thank you, Majlend. I was really pleased with the lighting, and added a tiny bit of 'glow' in photoshop to add a 'dreamy' feel.

Hello Matthew Beautiful picture, I like the shadows on the wall, nice shot. Greetings Sylvie

Thanks, Syl. It is a great building, better still when quiet - I guess it will be busy again next year when Harry Potter is at the cinema.

Very nice. That "natural sepia" also caught my eye! Matthew, all the best and a Happy New Year to you! Looking forward to your additions in 2008!
Matthew Walters, on December 27, 2007, said:
Cheers Keith and Lukas. Who needs photoshop when 600 year old architects do the job for you.

Beautiful shot, Matthew. The light/shadows and the perspective on the hallway combine into a really outstanding image. It's muted and understated, which for me is part of what makes it so appealing. I like the focus drawn to the door, which looks so mysterious and far away. I wonder what's beyond.
