The peaks from the left are Fan Foel, Bannau Sir Gaer and Cwar Du Mawr. The natural lake of Llyn y Fan Fach has been expanded with a small dam and a leat (both visible in shot) which diverts water into the reservoir from the stream between Fan Foel and Bannau Sir Gaer
Wonderful picture, Pete!!
very powerful, typical UK I think!!
Thanks WorldVision and Dave, The Black Mountain or Carmarthen Fans is the Western part of the Brecon Beacons National Park and much quieter than the central area around Pen y Fan. The walking is easy and the best routes follow the obvious sandstone escarpment between Llyn y Fan Fach and Llyn y Fan Fawr. If you like excellent views and not too many people this is a great place to visit!
If you click on the Carmarthen Fans or The Black Mountain tags there are a few more shots from this spectacular mountain area in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
