The peaks from the left are Fan Foel, Bannau Sir Gaer and Cwar Du Mawr. The natural lake of Llyn y Fan Fach has been expanded with a small dam and a leat (both visible in shot) which diverts water into the reservoir from the stream between Fan Foel and Bannau Sir Gaer

Great shot, Pete. Really dramatic shadow. Makes me want to get out there and walk along those peaks!

Thanks WorldVision and Dave, The Black Mountain or Carmarthen Fans is the Western part of the Brecon Beacons National Park and much quieter than the central area around Pen y Fan. The walking is easy and the best routes follow the obvious sandstone escarpment between Llyn y Fan Fach and Llyn y Fan Fawr. If you like excellent views and not too many people this is a great place to visit!
