Actually this place serves very good breakfasts, but in the early 1960's (before there was an uncle Bills) we all used to go across the street to Ernies, he used to run a small Mobile filling station but also served up great eggs, home fries and scrapple...and also served up great hamburgers and ice cream..... wow the memories of this place, can feel the summer's heat and smell the dune grass and seaweed, charlie calderone

Thank you charlie glad to bring back some great Jersey Shore memories, as you see I took this July 7, 2011. After Hurricane Sandy hope they didn't get any flood damage. I know if this was North of Atlantic City the storm was at its worst.. Out on LBI a number of places got severely damaged, not to mention further North up the coast..

Adam : Thanks for the compliments,of the photos, If I had the tiem and the parience would probably be an oil painter, so the camera appeals to my lazier instincts and its much quicker for the odd scene you stumble across, yes the damage from the hurricane was worse the further north you traveled, although Ocean City got a severe flooding.... the weather seems to be more extreme everywhere, since living over here in the U. K., I haven't experienced any hot weather hardly at all, I do miss those really hot days of summer when you just want to soak in the ocean!!! charlie

:-) The weather just seems like over the years to be getting worse more severe. Parts of the U.K. does it get hot summer type of days?

Chuck Calderone on June 15, 2013

Adam : When it does get hot it stays hot until about 2:00- 3:00 in the afternoon , then it usually cools down much quicker than the large land mass of America, since this is a very small island really, the sun never gets a chance to heat up the interior the way it does say in Kansas or Texas or Iowa in the scorching days of August , the last year the U. K. had a very hot summer was back in 2003, when a very large high pressure was located just below the Azores and when that happens it lets tons of warm and hot air in flow across from Central Europe, and then it would remind me of Hot summers in America, but since then , harldy any really how weather here at all, in fact the jet stream is yo yo , ing again and when it goes down below the u.k it just funnels up all the low depressions that have conme across the North Atlantic, bringing the U. K. rainy , showery days with just a peek a boo of sunshine now and then ...

Adam Elmquist on June 15, 2013

ohh... May that Jet stream could move up just for a couple of weeks again for just a little warmer weather.. LOL

Chuck Calderone on June 16, 2013

Adam : Thanks and just read extended forecast looks like the jet stream might go further north giving us a better start for a summer in early July, have been busy doing things around the house for the family, mother-inlaw is very ill & now lives here with us, so canot be outside taking photos for a while but will be back next week, charlie
