Very nice panoramic shot. What a wonderful place! I think that it's the kingdom of the silence and the beauty. Regards, Marco.
This area is remote. The nearest town is Mitchell 15(ish) miles away with less than 200 people. In the morning it's soo quiet and peaceful but on summer evenings the crickets are very, very loud. It's like their roaring..
Thanks for the kind words..
This is nice! A question, did you need to stitch more than one image to get this pano? In that case, do you HDRize them first and then stitch? Or the other way around? I took the first option in this image
This was take in 3 parts and stiched with panorama maker 3. I would have used my Photoshop Elements but it was having problems lining up the images and doing some blending. So in total I had 9 images to shoot to put this one together. Then I Photomatix it.
I have had some problems with Photmatix when doing HDR of some of my Panoramics. I have a 6 stich pano of sparks lake. When I finished with the tone mapping and then the software goes through it's last steps. It results in a darkened image beyond repair. Eventhough the editing window prior to applying the tonemapping adjustments had the corect exposure across the whole panoramic.
Have you ever experienced this?
Never tried that. I that image I first run Photomatix on each image. After tonemapping the first one I saved the settings for the other 3 images. Only then I stitched them together. Anyway, it wasn't the best solution. Right of the trees at left a vertical stitch is very clear... Ufff... I shot some panoramas recently fom my hotel window at Veracruz, so I'll try your technique with these images.
The place is really beautiful
Yes this area is Rally Special. Is is apart of the Joh Day Fossil Beds National Monument. At the Sheep Rock Unit they have dug up the complete history of the horse in fossilized remains. and much more. It's hard to believe that Millions of years agon this area was like the everglades of Florida.
