Nice waves the winter of '72. All the crowd went to Lisbon just before the swell hit. The surf break is similar to Sebastian Inlet in Florida...a rebounding wave off the jetty creates a nice tube. I'm deep in it with only my surfboard nose sticking out! Went back to London for x'mas, stopping in France to surf briefly. Now know this break is called Molhe Lesta. In '72 it had no name and no local surfers...virgin surf.
Hey Steve...how's the weather downunder? Yes, this was a special day surfing for me. I still remember that tube ride after all these years! I'll have to check out your photos too! Best, SirFin USA
cloudless blue skies at the moment was a great day on saturday but getting smaller as we have a huge High over us at the moment.we are not blessed with a point to surf on but a beach break. steve
Blue skies...very nice! But you are not too far away from Margaret River, no? Saw a movie long ago with Wayne Lynch ripping M.River like he owned the surf break! SirFin
P.S. No Great Whites over on your coast are there?
yes sad to say we had a death just around the corner while we where surfing read some of my comments dec 27 2/3 way down, the map look at the top part and you will see long point just to the right in a swimmers beach at Warnbor not a surf beach. steve
I have had a few close calls, myself... but I've had more close calls on the highway driving so that tells you something about relative risk I suppose. I'm envious of you Steve...Western Australia has such great places to surf! And what a beautiful country also! Mahalo, SirFin USA
