The real trail begins after the giftshop behind that curve in the back. We already had 800 m of altitude in our legs that morning; but as Swissmen we are used to hike steep slopes as you can see -->here.

This is a fantastic trail, I believe you know about levadas da Madeira that a re walks made on the cliffs for the water, and now they are used as tracking trails, they are reaaly beautifull.
