Now Peter I am no arbori....aboreal... tree person, but I want to just point out to you (because I know about these things) that this here tree is not well.

You see living in a forest the size of western Europe like what I does, I gets me to know these details about stuff.

So, I would watch yourself, when it comes to having a quick banana sandwich sitting under this, my advice.... sit elsewhere.

Mind you. I think it might be mistitled. It was 7 years ago or so since you last saw this so who knows.............

Jethro - in heaven knows where !

Hi Rosa and Jethro

Ok I have put a question mark after the title. Rest assured if I pass around that way again I will check if the old oak still resides there!

Best wishes Peter

It is dying, Peter, if not already dead, but zoom in x2 and look at the lichens, and the texture of the ancient bark. PS Hornets nest in old tree root systems. Watch out! Theolfa

Looking again at this photo I realised I had mapped it in the wrong place, note the post behind the tree. I have now corrected it.

From the previous picture that I had taken see here you can see, to the left, a line of posts leading the eye to the tree in question.

If you look on Google Earth to the right of the picture and zoom in there appears to be the ghostly figure of a tree.

I'm Still Standing? All the best Peter.
