Very nice composition & bridge Peter, L1,Eduardo.
Beautiful picture of this old stone bridge, Peter! I like it a lot! Best wishes, Anne
Thank you Anne and Eduardo
This bridge has a great place in English history...
The Battle of Powick Bridge, fought on 23 September 1642, was the first major cavalry engagement of the English Civil War and it was a victory for the Royalists who overthrew the Parliamentary cavalry...
By coincidence the English Civil Wars ended with another clash at Powick Bridge almost exactly 9 years later at the Battle of Worcester on the 3rd September 1651. The Royalists broke the bridge, but Major-General Richard Deane forced his way over the River Teme and pursued them into Worcester.

Now thats a bridge of interest, I have been to Powick and that side of Worcester many times and never noticed that bridge . Eyes wide open that are shut, I must revisit with the trusty camera there are many grand old trees in the area.(Like5)
One of my favourite bridges, and brinks to mind how much you can discover when on foot.
Best wishes Peter
