Lavrion, Kamariza - Ruins of buildings of the exploitation company Roux-Serpieri-Fressynet CE (1864)

Lavrion was famous in classical antiquity for the extraction of silver, and was a main source of income for the city-state of Athens, in the production of coins and the financing of the Athenian fleet.

The mines of Lavrion reopened in 1864 when the Franco-Italian company interests Roux-Serpieri-Fressynet CE, who founded the Italian Tzianmpatist Serpieri, secured by the Greek state the right to exploit the region.
