BTW: Yank in Dixie sounds like a guy living in Georgia, with roots in Massachusetts. ;)

Close Polytropos! Actually living in Virginia (once home to the heart of the Confederacy) with roots in Connecticut! (family goes way back in New England). Bruce

And what the heck are you doing at this time at the computer?? I mean, it must be 3 o'clock in the morning in your area ... ;-)

2:49 am to be exact! I work overnight at a residence for folks with disabilities. They are all sleeping of course but I stay up to keep an eye on things and to do various chores etc but these do not take the entire shift to complete. Bruce

Yes Bruce I see it! I wonder what criteria is used to decide what layer photos appear on! It's not necessarily the oldest or the quality of the shot.

BTW Nice to see this one pop up in my comments again!

Robert, Thanks for the comment. This area of the United States is indeed very scenic, but scenery like this is certainly not exclusive to Virginia! The northeast part of the United States, particularly, the New England States are famous for their wonderful fall colors and for country lanes like this one.

Thanks Alvaro

Thanks DerSIGGY Greetings from the United States!

What an excellent shot, Bruce. It's fall on a postcard. I'm a bit disappointed to hear that there's a gate, I would have liked to drive down Ridgely Farm Lane. (Haha, and I sure know what you mean about parking outside the gate and having to nab a quick photo.) Malcolm

Yank in Dixie, on May 9, 2008, said:

Thanks Malcolm. I too would like to walk down this lane....and explore the property as well but I am sure the owners would not appreciate it! As you know we have many beautiful old estates in this area and they all look so inviting!

Thanks Nicolas! I'll check out your contest photos! Bruce
