Oh, I understand you now. We are a little bit away from the engine. Standard US gauge train. First there is a road immediately next to the brick wall, then a bit of grass. Try zooming in the little map to get a better idea.

so, whole pic is not sharp, so i try imagine somewhere a distance for better dimensions of objects :) so you say, that loco is standard dimensions :)

I have observed these trains running at about 45 MPH, most notably (and alarmingly) during the evening of 4 July when the grass immediately adjacent to the tracks is being used (in the dark) as a tourist parking area. The pavement is immediately behind the Palace wall and perhaps 2 ft lower; there is a 2-lane road, another pavement, about 35-40 ft of grass lawn, and then the tracks. Nothing keeps little kids from running in front of the train in the dark but luck, their parents and God.

Oy! Now THAT would be exciting! Thank you JComet for sharing that observation.
