Nice picture, Swissmay!!
The fog on the background and the depth in the picture is beautiful!
Thanks, WV! It's a very lonely spot on about 1000 m above sealevel. I like this view very much as well!
Light is very beautiful on the tribe of the tree, and good the foggy, humid background.Very beautiful, May !Cheers, Tamás
Tamàs, thank you for your nice comment! The fog you see, lies in the Midlands, between the Jura and the hills of the Emmental. The Midlands stretch from the Lake of the Geneva to the lake of Constance, all the bigger cities are there. The Jura is an elevation of around 1000 m above sealevel.
Very nice May,like it very much.
Thank you Bjørn! :)
Very dramatic image! I thought it was a rock outcrop at first, but I see it's a ragged, blasted stump. It sticks out so well in this image! The fog against the mountains in the background is also a great touch.
Thank you so much, Brandon! I was quite happy, when I saw this wooden stump and the scenery with the layer of fog down in the Midlands. Up on these hills we are very often without fog, whereas in the cities they have to stay there until the weekend, when they go up to our hills and the mountains. What you see in the background are the Jura mountains, a plateau massive of limestones on at least 1000 m above sealevel, the same as the hill, from where I took the photo.
It's a very interesting stump, May. It looks like the tree fell on its own, then part of the remaining stump was cut by hand. Wonderful background as well.
Ryan thanks for your visit and comments! I am glad that you like it.
It seems to have been a tree with six smaller trunks, of which one or more have fallen by a storm or some lightning. The other ones have been cut later as you suggest.
I loved the dramatic atmosphere when I was there. No road leading there. It's a very lonely place with a hut and some more trees, the broken stem pointing up as if in agony, some dark clouds behind me, the view free to the Jura mountains. To reinforce the gloomy situation I crouched down to get a real close up of the stump as well as the scenery. Like that the trunk seems to be bigger than it really was.
Thank you so much, John! You seem always to find the ones, which I favour the most. :)
This is a beautiful picture, I like it!
Ich liebe solche Bilder :)
Ein schönes Wochenende.
Liebe GrüBe, Sylvie
Danke schön, Sylvie! Auch dir ein schönes Wochenende! Liebe Grüsse, May
Greetings May, The rolling Swiss terrain with patches of forest and open pastures is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Hallo May! Das ist wieder mal ein wunderschönes Foto! Der Blick hinüber zu den Bergen ist grandios, und der Baumstumpf setzt einen markanten Akzent! Wirklich ein Superfoto! Liebe Grüße, Anne
Sehr schön gestaltet, May, gefällt auch mir sehr gut. Liebe Grüße, Peter
Danke Peter, es freut mich!
Herzliche Grüsse, May
La nuit, la silhouette de ce très vieil arbre malheureusement abattu, doit ressembler à un monstre sorti du plus profond de la terre...comme tu le dis
c'est une Atmosphère dramatique je suis d'accord avec toi.
Fais de beaux rêves May !!!
Merci beaucoup, Jean! J'aime ton imagination. Le pauvre monstre cri ces accusations au monde.
