These boats have lovely lines John..

Traditionally built in timber and possibly many years old, if those old-fashioned portholes are anything to go by!

Surviving that terrible tsunami by their sheltered location they will no doubt last for many more years..Ship-building skills must be alive and well in Thailand!

I have enjoyed your latest series John..Those Patayan beach scenes look great..L

Hope all is well with you and yours.

Friendly greetings from the UK.

Hello Jim, Great to have you visit and comment on this fine wooden vessel - I know you appreciate the building skills that go into such beautiful boats. There are still many built the old way here in Indonesia, some as big as 70 or 80 feet and still constructed with very little in the way of metal fastenings. We are all fine thanks Jim and hope this finds you and yours the same.

Very best wishes to you, John
