I used to live at Heel Point. I lived 5 homes down from the back road of Heel Point. The homes there were what was called typhoon proof homes. I survived Typhoon Sarah, Typhoon Wendy. We stayed there when Typhoon Wendy hit because of the build of the homes. I have been looking at the latest photos and see the the Drifters Reef bridge is gone. Too bad, I used to jump off the bridge into the ocean. Wake Island was my home for 15 years. I miss it very much.
