Thank you for going back in my pages Stvorek_pl, to bring some of my older photos to view. I am afraid we emphasize only the new ones.

This is a great picture of the Carey Mansion, most famous for being the setting for the television show "Dark Shadows" The exterior of the mansion was the only thing used in the show, the interior was sets that bore no relationship to the actual architectural floorplans of the Carey Mansion. The building and grounds are currently used as a girl's school. Would really enjoy seeing more shots of the house.

Thanks jollyroger53. I changed the title in consideration of your new information. This is one of the fun parts of Panormaio. you learn about places after you post them.
Sorry I have no other shots; just this one as I drove by. Sorry.

Wow thats a really good shot of the mansion because it doesn't look that good day to day. Its actually a college dorm now for Salve Regina University which I attend and it is no longer an all girls school. Nice shot tho, seriously the building never looks that nice

Well it's a kick meeting you sru09. As you know better than I, that's a good, high hedge I shot over to get this photo. I stopped the car in the middle of the street, and with the door open I stood on my car seat to get the view over the top of the car. I'm glad it was an exceptional moment for the building too.
Cheers,
Hank

I used to go to the girls school in 69,70,71 and graduated in 72. The Newport School for Girls, It was the best 4 years in school. Loved living in this mansion, it was in beautiful shape inside, the bedrooms were huge, most of us had out own bathrooms, where we would sneak cigarettes and other things! Went back to see the place after Salve Regina took it over and it's not the same at all. There are fireproof doors all over the mansion,it's in terrible shape, very depressing and dark, couldn't wait to get out of there... Not the same place by any means. It was called Sea Cliff when I lived there.

Thanks for the compliment, Susananthea. Actually, I got my first digital camera in 2000 so this was digital from day one. Check out my "Scans" tag for the converted slides.
