The main road from Lennox Head township leads to the eerie Lennox Head ‘headland’, which towers over the town from the south. You wander through low grass along the cliffs’ edge, intersected by three rugged promontories jutting into the ocean. The cliffs are black and grey in colour, occasionally brightened by patches of dark orange. There is a solitary rock standing a hundred metres from the shore, which the constant battering of huge swell had sculpted into a crucifix.
