You have posted lots of lovely new pictures Joy

I found my stolen prickly pair cuttings scattered on the ground when I came back from my trip a squirrel had been nosing around and had knocked the pots down. Now we are looking for a frustrated rodent trying to get these amazingly tiny spines out its nose!

This is lovely and I am looking forward to mine growing up (if they do!).

Hi Jethro! Thanks for all the great comments! LOL re stolen prickly pear cuttings...I am sure they were greatly missed;) Poor he didn't plan on spines in his nose:) Prickly pear was blooming or budding everywhere in Texas and OK in May. Hope yours recovery and bloom like this one day!

I will try to answer the rest of your comments when I return. Have to head out the door for 2 weeks now...gotta finish packing:(

Thanks Barát for all your nice comments and likes. I will try to visit when I return from my trip.

Those spikes look vicious, JF, I hope you didn't hurt yourself getting so close. I'm glad to see what the blossoms look like, as I've only ever seen this species of cactus without them. Love it! Theolfa

PS I Hope **Jethro gets replacements for his :D

LOL! That they are Theolfa, but no injuries as I learned my lesson with those long ago.... We were visiting family down in Georgia and my Mom decided that she should bring some cuttings home. They were in the back of the truck by the tailgate and the neighbor boys and I were riding home in the back of the truck all tucked in old feather beds to keep warm...unfortunately after a bit we forgot about the prickly pear cactus cuttings:) OUCH! So now I steer well clear of those spines:)

These are actually the buds...the blooms are a bright yellow. I will try to post some of those from Texas soon. Glad to have you stop by...will try to visit you soon:)

Many thanks for your kind words and the likes Dušan & Sanjay! I will try to visit soon!

Nice colors! Ours didn't bloom much this year because it was too dry.

Thanks Margot! The color of the buds is one of my favorite colors. We were lucky as they had just had rain before we got there and everything was blooming. I think the rest of the year was super dry. I had not heard that Colorado was dry too but I know most of the southern tier of states was really dry this summer.

Wow, isn't that just beautiful!!! They look like tulips in the thumbnail. Great shot, Joy!
