Watsons Bay is located right at the entrance to Port Jackson (Sydney Harbour). Beyond Watsons Bay extends the South Head, traditionally the first landmark seen by every emigrant arriving to Sydney. An easy trek around the headland leads from Robertson Park to Camp Cove and past the nude Lady Bay beach until you reached the stripy red-and-white silhouette of Hornby Lighthouse. Further on, the path is closed by a military outpost, forcing a U-turn back to Robertson Park. At the top end of the park, rocky cliffs known as The Gap dominate (photo) the coastline, starting at the military barracks past the lighthouse and spreading northwards to the first residential properties of North Bondi.
