Hi Alex,

I took my camera (and tripod) out to photograph a Guy Fawkes firework display. This was the first time I had tried this with my Olympus SP550UZ. It worked really well and I got a great series of photos. I only posted one, though, as it shows fireworks exploding over Jordanhill School, a local landmark building. All the others were simply air shots and did not have much to locate them and make them worthy of Panoramio.

While I was there I took the other three night shots of buildings, without any fireworks. One is the school on its own. Another is of a recent local housing development. I thought the silhouette of the beech tree had merit.

The final photo in the series is this one of the David Stow building - the centre of the former Jordanhill Teacher Training College (now an outpost of Strathclyde University). It shows the parkland in front of the building (together with football goals if you look closely), the classic David Stow listed building and a more modern library and admin block behind (complete with mobile phone antennae).

Most people choose a photo angle which excludes the really awful 1960's architecture, but this photo illustrates the truely mixed up world which we now live in.
