Lovely shot Sarah. Sunshine just breaking through the mist. I'm guessing early morning.

Thanks, Steve! It was around 11.30 - but it could have been an hour earlier, as I'm not sure if I re-set the clock on my camera after the recent time change. A couple of hours later, cold mist engulfed us & the day was spoiled, but it was one of the most spectacular Autumn days I've seen. Thanks again for your kind comment!

Thanks very much, John! it was a magical day, just a week ago, but it all looks flatter & muddier now! Thanks a lot for visiting,

All best wishes,

Sarah

Perfect shot I can spell the damp and musty aromas and hear the leaves russel under foot. Gold star

Thanks twice, Peter - for your kind comment & for the star!! I very much appreciate it. I managed to take very many pictures on this walk - it was almost an archetypal beautiful English autumn day!

Thanks again!

Hello again Sarah, wooded glades such as these in Autumn are as magical as anywhere else on earth.

It takes no imagination to hear that distintive crisp bird-song and the beat of their wings, the call of the Pheasant, the scurrying of small mammals in the undergrowth, the rustling of branches high in the tree-tops. The damp fusty smell of decay as fallen leaves mould on the ground---Ah fond memories.--Jim

msadek rached, merci bien et de ton commentaire et de ta visite! Je les apprecie beaucoup tous les deux!

Axota, thanks again, Jim - sorry for taking so long to respond to your kind words. This was a magic day, one in which I took over 60 shots in these woods which abut our garden. we are very lucky to live in an arboretum! I had my own small mammal with me, playing hide & seek & scuffling in the leaves, & he was a happy boy that day, too!

Thanks again to you both!

Greetings et salutations,

Sarah

What a lovely place. Are those wild strawberry plants growing near the foot of the tree at left?
