So exotic dear Timo, a different view of our planet!

We get little cowries, up to 1 centimetre in length in the UK. The are rough on the outside, not silky like this one. So far I haven't found any cowries in Norway!

Warm wishes, Amelia

Thank you for your kind compliments,

Scotty,

Amelia,

I have a picture of a beautiful unknown very small cowrie from Malaysia also. I actually didn't see it with my old eyes, but just took a picture where the guide pointed at!

Best wishes, Timo

tmoj/i have one of these tiger cowrie shell's on my mantel-peace. I got it when i was about 10 and it has held its color perfect, after all those years.

Thank you for your visit and kind compliments Lloyd!

the shells are really shiny and that makes it a bit difficult to take a picture. Either you get bad reflections caused by flash or then a problem with focusing.

It would be nice to have one on my mantel-peace also, but nowadays it is forbidden to collect them in most places. It is also one of the principles with diving that you are not supposed touch nor collect anything. Bring back only memories and photos and leave only bubbles behind!

Best wishes, Timo
