Interesting industry architecture Marilyn, greetings, karol
Viele Grüße von der Mosel
You are great in finding terrific place and shots, Marilyn! Dany
Hello Marilyn! My first impression was Dali or Gaudi. Its almost a shame this factory is coming down. At least its preserved on Panoramio now!
Many thanks for your visits and comments, karol and Heinz.
Dany, once again I need to thank my sons, who knew about this place and also the pleasant, short train ride to it!
Ed, you're not far off. The cement works was a company owned by Guell and some partners. Guell was Gaudi's frequent patron, but in this case the building was designed by another "Moderniste" architect. A web site for the European Route of Industrial Heritage says The building was probably designed by the Catalan architect Rafael Guastavino, who spent much of his career in the United States.
An impressive capture of a remarkable industrial building. It's a pity that it has no chances of surviving. Like, and congratulations Marilyn!
