Fixed at 85mm, and you can stop down to F/1.4? Sounds like fun, is it a general use lens, like the 50mm, or does it do something in particular best?

I'd say the bokeh is its top feature but otherwise it's physically well built, it focuses quickly, it's fabulously sharp, and it just renders beautifully. It's difficult to see it in pictures unless you already know it's there, but some lenses can render images a bit flatly because the transitions from focus to out-of-focus aren't so smooth; this lens is not such a lens.

And obviously being f/1.4 and shooting it on a D3S means I can get sharp handheld shots in virtually any light.
