This sign is reading also for blind people. Maybe there is a home for blind people around. ;)

Ķieģeli paliek ķieģelis :) Paldies par padomiem!!! Tagad zinu kā te uzvesties :) Lai arī bildēm netā vietas daudz, nekur tā īsti ērti nejutos. Liekas, te būs labi :) Pa tiem draugiem.lv ir tā, ka lielai daļai draugu nav interese dauzīties pa šādām lapām un kaut ko skatīties, bet man gribas parādīt...un kuram gan to negribas :)

I not seen there any blind peoples near sign! Might be only because I am sort of blind too? :D

Sorry fellow-countrymans, I can't resist take my photos when discovered such excellent handwork! :D

To Simka: paldies par komentāru! Laipni lūgtum Panoramio klubiņā! :D

Kā jau varbūt varēja pamanīt kaut vai no manām bildēm un manām sarunām, te ir daudz specifisku bilžu mīļotāju! Katrs var atrast sev to formu, kas vislabāk palidz izpausties.

Daudziem patīk siena gubiņas, citiem patīk vecas sadzīves tehnikas un rūsas bojāti antīkie autiņi. Citiem patīk sunīši, kaķīši un puķu dobes. :)

Man savukārt ļoti patīk ceļot! :D

When there isn't any white paint left, why dont use a White Brick...?

Good catch Ainars!

Cheers, Alex

Ainars M, on November 8, 2007, said:

yes, yes .. specially because this style sign normal made prototypes are named populary as brick signs! :D

Then why not use glued bricks in handmade signs where normal signs not available? (Sure, it is always real fun to see!) :D

Moreover, I have seen somewhere huddles of broken bricks at enters to small private roads, to prevent unauthorised cars to enter.

See, natural 'bricks' are popular along manufactured signs to use in wide household range! :)

I reckon the brick serves here as a handy resource for enforcing obedience accordingly!

Ainars M, on November 8, 2007, said:

Well, it can be as handy resource in unexpected cases too! :D

Thanks for visit! Ainars.

I'm wondering how the sign would be carved out for a sign with this filigree.

Thanks for great link!

Cheers, ainars

Well, the practical thing is that you can recognize this "3-D" sign also from a very flat angle; when you almost passed by.

Nice idea ... ;-)

Ainars M, on November 8, 2007, said:

to mr.P.: well, that's right! I was almost passed by this sign in full speed! Sign captured my slight attention ONLY (!) because are without normal white ring along edge. (Even wood pole looks normal from distance!) Then I said - STOP! Come back in my viewfinder right now! :D

To Kojak: tnx for visit - glad You like this idea! :D

GP-ZG, on November 8, 2007, said:

I wonder why you have passed it in full speed when it "clearly" says "No passing this way"! Is that usual habit there or the traffic signs can be normally neglected if being funny or brick-laid!?

Ainars M, on November 8, 2007, said:

Hi, GP-ZG, thanks for reply! :)

Sign are installed right on enter to small(private) side road and not on main road, where I passed-by in good speed. No, personally I have not habbits to ignore traffic rules in rough mode, but I seen several times fellows-countrymans ignoring rules. :)
