Mira,
When I read your kind comments, I remembered a photo my sister took of some Spanish Moss in Florida. I posted it temporarily so you could see it.
She took it for me because she knows how much I miss seeing it like when I was a child growing up in south Louisiana.
There is a joke that if you stick a broomstick in the ground in Florida, it will grow. That is almost true as it is not uncommon to see Spanish Moss growing on fences and power lines and anything else that does not move.
I will try to get some photos of that when I go there April 1st.
Warmest regards from Spokane

This is really lovely and very interesting, Leo, and I've enjoyed reading the comments with Mira. Your sister's tillandsia photo is amazing as well. Here is my favorite tree image - no moss though. I kind of fell in love with this Olive tree, it impressed me so much, with its mad root structure :O)

Suzi, I would have bet good money that I replied to this comment back in '09 and I would have lost. I followed your link and agree that Olive tree is beautiful. This is the painting I was thinking of when I posted Carolyn's photo. It was in our stateroom on Our Bahamas cruise and I just had to take a picture of it. I don't know the name of it, but again I'd bet good money that you do. :)
Thankl you, Roby, for your kind words and Like.
Best wishes, Leo

I am quite sure this is a Degas, dear Leo but I don't know the title - Degas painted so many amazing ballet scenes. I thank you for this reminder of his wonderful work - I have three large ballet photos by Harvey Edwards in my room and a Degas print or two would be a happy addition to my walls. If you find the title of the Degas in your link, would you please let me know, and I'll do the same! Hugs (O:

I think you're right, Suzi. Definitely looks Degas (not that I knew that 2 days ago. lol) Pano is so educational. I searched a little, but can't find this particular painting. I'll let you know if I find something.
Warm regards, Leo

I've done some extensive searches, Leo, but cannot find this one Degas. If you posted it, you might get a result. Billy is on the research job too. He's my modern and fine art guru! His first thought was Degas as well. You could make a print and take it to your local art museum or an art professor or librarian at the nearby university/college. Enquiring minds want to know!! (O:

Found it! Edgar Degas in oils of 'Before the Performance' circa 1896, though the colors are in golds and greens rather than the pinks and blues, which I like in your image, possibly faded by the light from the porthole. I've passed over it many times in my searches because of the color differences. Yeah! So glad to move on to thinking about something else - I've been on a mission! Hugs (O:

Dear Suzi,
I know who to turn to if I ever have an art question! I guess we'll all be able to sleep now. At least until the next mission. :) Thank you for answering the big question. I've wondered about it ever since I posted the photo for Carolyn.
Warmest regards, Leo
