Esk Pike is seen from close to the big cairn at the top of the climb up Calf Cove from Esk Hause. The Langdale Pikes can be seen looking quite insignificant in the left distance.

Hi Pete This is tremendous! Lovely light and rich colours but such a breath-taking composition with the contrast of light and shade with the far hillside echoing the line of the strong bold and darker forms in the foreground. The all-too-rare pure blue sky has enough cloud to create that all-important sense of distance - something you cant get when the sky is TOTALLY cloudless. A YSL again from me. Best wishes, Tim.
