I like this one, Marilyn. It's very simple and straightforward, hiding lots of nice details. For example, the boats don't jump out, but add a wonderful texture on a closer look. But the thing that strikes me the most is the perspective, following the wall straight out toward the horizon. It's perfectly framed and aligned. Very nice.

Cheers, Ryan

Hi, I like your feeling for the space. Directing lines but the viewer still remains on the walking ground. For me as a person from the german North Sea coast it is always great to see a picture with the power of the sea. The picture has a great sharpness and the color blue is perfect. Great photo.

Greetings from Germany,

Carsten

Many thanks, Ryan and Carsten, for your comments. I felt a bit uneasy posting this because of its unusual composition, so I'm glad it has some friends!

Greetings, Marilyn

Nice picture! Couldn't really explain why I like this picture. But the comments before do explain why I guess.

Great pic. I have been there 4 times to Guyana. Love the women and the country. Great time for me. Look how high the ocean is to the sea wall. This country will be flooded soon. The Sea comes up to within a couple of feet of the sea wall. Worth a visit! River resorts and Lake Main Stay.

Thanks, Bill, for stopping by and reviving some memories. My husband worked in Guyana for four years before we were married, in the "Department of Drainage and Irrigation," so he was very interested to see how the sea walls and the gates were doing when we made this visit. They are pretty important, as you know!
