Hi Marilym, add my compliments to those of Bruce and D Light. This is a great shot. Cheers,
Thanks, Bruce, DLight, and Hank. I understand that there epiphytes in many different plant groups, and there may be some ferns here--I certainly saw some--but I think DLight is probably right that these are orchids, or mostly orchids. Marilyn
What beautiful tree and moreover, it reminded me Muir Woods in San Francisco. Congratulations Marilyn, you are a great photographer. Greetings, Paty
Thanks, Paty, for your kind words. I can see how you were reminded of Muir Woods. My husband and I were there a few years ago when I had a meeting in San Francisco, and I had visited once as a teenager, too. A lovely place! Greetings, Marilyn
It's a jungle unto itself. Great photo, Marilyn, because the tree looks absolutely huge. How big is it, anyway?
Someday, Eve, I'll look at my photos to see whether I have another that puts this in scale. But it was huge, very impressive. "A jungle unto itself" is a very good description!
Of course, natural are accepted ! look at the splendid baobab of Roland
