Quite a nice hotel. Rooms large enough but are ready for an update / refurbishment. Its a bit of a walk to the beach but the hotel puts on a tractor train every two hrs or so. Nice walks though! Staff are nice and friendly, they do, do all the night entertainment shows which are quite entertaining. Love the quote above about I’ve got the monkey! One guy on the beach, walks up and down all day selling monkeys ( not real ones) Says “ Ive got the monkey! Monkey sees monkey do!” flipping great! The wife and I did venture out into Puerto Plata town centre. Soon as you get out of the taxi you’re mobbed by people who want to show you around. If you say no, then they follow you around and keep asking to meet their brother’s shop. Watch out for these guys. Flipping nuisances.

Oh mybe should add - food at the hotel is 10 out of 10...lots to choose from at main main times and snack served inbetween times. holiday rating for me...8 out of 10. quite good. enjoy!

Know what you mean about Puerto Plata wirelad - we went 'private hire' and got taken round all the driver & guide's uncles and brothers shops and jewellers. Made the mistake of leaving the estate early one evening and walked down the main highway from one gate to the other. It was only about 1 mile but christ was it scary! No wonder the guards at the gates are armed!
