I've been on Mt. Hood and others but not Larch Mountain. Good shot though.
I've never been to Larch Mt until this past month. I was really suprised! The View is on of the best. On a clear day you can see Mt Rainer, St Helens, Mt Adams, Hood and Jefferson. You are about 4000 feet up. It's only 14 miles from the crown point cut off and you might be able to make a visit this weekend dodging the storms coming in but there is a small chance of some snow up there.
Check it out..
I never even heard of it before. Been skiing on Mt. Hood and up on Bachelor (sp?) Love to visit but I'm a little over 2000 miles to the east right now and don't expect that to change anytime soon. I'll just have to enjoy the views from here by you and others.
After I posted the response I quickly scanned through your collection and realized that you live out of state. Way Out Of State! :) I'll make a more complete scan of your collection in the next week though.
Come back for a visit when you can!
Way out of state is right. I added some more just now. I would have to scan some older 4x6 photos to show some from out of my general area now. I have many from Salem and quite a few from Wyoming. Not sure those would look too good though. Have to think about that one.
Hope to make a visit some day. Maybe next year...
Awesome shot Michael! I used to love to hike to the top of Larch Mountain, but haven't been up there for 10 years or so. We used to love to go up there in the winter and take our snowmobiles to the top. They close a gate a couple of miles below the parking lot and the only way to get to the top easily is by snowmobile (you cold cross country ski, but that would be MUCH harder!).
Thanks for this wonderful shot of Mt. Hood!
very beautiful shot!
i like how the sun looks through the clouds like that..
Thank you for you kind compliments!
It was a beautiful sunrise..
Feliz Año Nuevo 2008
