A roughly half natural sized copy of the three times natural sized painted bronze figures on the breakwater have been erected at Vernon Place in Newbiggin, just North of Newcastle.
As much as I like it, I can't help wondering whether this is going to get past the Panaramio selection "Censors", who will probably take the briefest of looks and decide that it's a portrait.
It took a while to work out why two sets but your description was right on the money Pete.
Mike is right - the selectors don't like it. Bummer!
Thanks Mike and Jethro, you were right, two of these were rejected for GE, but I appealed one and that was added. I've just asked them to have another look at this one as well, but I'm not hopeful.
As you can see it wasn't a great day in Newbiggin, but this fine bit of modern art quite impressed me. I think it's a nice touch to have these miniatures on the shore so you can get a close look at the figures.
Beautiful work, Pete!LIKE
