The largest carved onyx figure in the world. Designed by Swedish sculptor Carl Milles. Dedicated 1936 to the war veterans of Ramsey County.

The statue is composed specifically of Mexican Onyx mined from the Pedrara quaries. Milles inspiration for the statue came from attending an actual peace pipe ceremony in Oklahoma. Also interesting is the statue rotates on a motorized turntable and taking 21/2 hours to complete a rotation.
