Mekong River in Pakbang (Laos)

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Morning before continuing our two day "slow boat" trip down the mighty Mekong River to the old Lao capital of Luang Prabang.

Pak Bang is small town consisting of Guest houses and restaurants.

The friendly people of this village are probably doing quite OK, as majority of travelers have to stop overnight here.

There was a steep gravel hill down to the river, which was really hard to get down with the luggage.

Accomodation is cheap, food is bit more expensive than Thailand (but still only $3-$4) and not as good.

Prices are almost identical everywhere!
