Nice picture/composition Ian. Greetings Berend
Beautiful and very special tree and beautiful picture! LIKE gr Gerard
There are many abandoned houses in the villages and towns of Tonga, as people move from an outer island to the larger centres, and from there to Nuku'alofa and from there to NZ, Australia, USA or anywhere the opportunity takes them.
I think this house, by the looks of its simple design, may have been a house provided by a donor country following one of the tropical cyclones that tore through northern Tonga, some years ago.
The frangipani has burst into late winter-spring bloom and soon it will sprout its new summer foliage.
Even the word 'Frangipani' conjours up exotic perfumes and aromatherapy remedies dear Ian. I'm sure you are enjoying the delights of Tonga, even if you haven't had a massage ;)
Warm wishes, Amelia
This is a wonderful place for a quiet retreat... 'Loneliness in the wilderness' could be a title for this shot. Awesome ! L
Best greetings, Michael
A line of pebbles on my back, frangipani perfumed oil dripping from my shoulders,... is only for promotional images for in-flight magazines and they sure don't want me as their model!
But there are many other exotic delights in Tonga that we are enjoying!
This is a gentle part of Paradise's back yard, but it is hardly a wilderness - just too many pigs to be so. But it does get wild here sometimes when the tropical cyclones track through here. I suspect this was a home provided by an aid agency after one such event some years ago.
But yes it is a wonderful place of retreat!

That view may not be that special but I have learned what a well composed photo looks like.
