I love it!
I upgraded from an EOS 350D (Rebel)because I wanted a more advanced camera with a full frame sensor. I also wanted to keep my Canon lenses. The 5D is the best value, next up is the 1D series that I cannot afford.
It is big and heavy. I use a tripod all the time on photo shoots so the only problem is carrying it.
Picture colour and detail are excellent. It has extensive controls to shoot jpeg but I shoot raw then edit with Silkypix before Photoshop. 12.8MB gives big pictures. For example the stones in the monument column above are not normally visible; they show up well in the photo.
The full frame sensor is good at higher ISO. At 400 ISO there is no noise and no visible graininess. Some of my bird shots are at 800 ISO and 700mm lens.
AF is excellent, I use it almost all the time except for macros.
Only problem is 5Ds are known for collecting dirt on the sensor. I have cleaned it several times. But I do change lenses in the field.
