The metro system, at least those two stations shown here, appears to have been running just for those few days of the party anniversary and to show tourists around. It is said that it wasn't running at other times at all for lack of electricity.

However until the 1970ies North Korea had a higher GNP than the now-high-tech-country South Korea. The fall of the communism revealed that North Korea relied heavily on subsidies and trade with the Soviet Union. Since then not a single building was built in Pyongyang except for one hotel.

Hallo zerega!

Wow, Du bist der Erste, bei dem ich Bilder mit Schienenfahrzeuge aus diesem Land sehe... Ich denke, es war auch nicht unbedingt einfach, dort frei zu fotografieren.

So weit ich weiß, fahren in Pjöngjang auch gebrauchte U-Bahnen aus Berlin, natürlich aus DDR-Produktion. Aber das habe ich auch nur vom Hörensagen her.

Meine Frage: Kannst Du bitte diese Bild auch in die Gruppe "Railways around the world" hochladen? Das wäre klasse! LG, schwabendude
