Hiya Jim - So glad you posted this and it is no longer 'languishing" in your photo library... You have posted quite a story... It must have placed so many into a dilemma when the rules obliged so many serviceable boats to be scrapped.... I hope this one has a fate somewhat brighter...

Have you asked for a second review on selection...?
Beaut picture, mate.
A sad story Jim - reading back on your comments, I agree - beggars belief that red tape and EU law conspire to prevent better use of her :(
DON`T NICE BUT GOOD PHOTO
I can only offer my humble apologies for this extremely late response.
Herb Riddle~~~~You may be surprised to learn that the once busy fishing port of Whitby is now a shadow of its former self..The quays are more or less deserted, the fabric of the harbour is decaying and there is no cash to stem the deterioration. There is, however, a profitable lobster fishery that employs a few men and a dozen smaller boats. I enjoyed your feed-back Herb :)
Amelia Royan~~~~~I sense a hint of patriotism there Amelia, the goddess of love has not shone brightly on this Venus.. The hope is that she will be converted to a holiday let..for honey-mooners perhaps??
uccheddu scultore~~~Hi! Francesco, I greet you warmly..thanks for your nice comment!
Bánfalvi Suzi Natusk~~~~~Hello Natuska :)) I had not forgotten you..How could I forget the warmest smile in the world!
someGuyinmasset~~~~Always the master of mirth Guy, where ever have you got to..?? You disappear for longer spells than me and that's saying something!
Steve Stoddart** Hiya Steve, things have gone very wrong with the fishing industry, it's more or less defunct...Only two trawlers operate out of the port and small landings of fish hardly warrant the expense and trouble of running a fish-market. The operation of the port is now in the hands of a board with only limited income and lacking in ideas to improve things..The lower harbour is almost completely deserted..I never thought I would live to witness the sad decline of a once proud industry!
aggeliki.k~~~It's a pleasure to receive your visit and nice comment Angelik
Tomros~~~Hello Tomas, I finally made it back to Panoramio and have much mail to attend to..which is, of-course, most gratifying..I'm sorry I missed your comment regarding the group..
studio4t1~~~Hiya Tone, it's only taken a year to respond and I'm not proud of it..Thanks to you, and everyone for your patience :)
ButsYV~~~~~Good to see you _Yuri, I'm looking forward to re-visiting your gallery :)
~oOo~~~~I had not thought of asking but as you reminded me I've requested a second review..Thanks for your nice comment pal :)
Dean Matthews~~~~Since the landings of fish has diminished, there has been a huge drop in the income to the port authorities..Vital repairs to the harbour infrastructure and fabric is being seriously compromised. The burden of this shortfall will eventually be carried by the leisure boating fraternity and they aint going to be pleased!
bakyy~~~~Welcome to my gallery :) Thank you so much for your frequent visits and especially for your encouraging reviews..This old fishing boat has a future since it will be converted into holiday accommodation for the tourists..Many similar vessels are being decommissioned and scrapped!
Thank you all so much for your precious comments
