St. Takla was a pupil of St. Paul.

She was converted into Christianity in spite of her pagan parents' refusal.

She escaped to Maaloula through the Eastern Gorge and lived in a big cave (the recent place of the convent), then died there.

Nora! How did you come to Syria? How sad, that all of this can be destroyed... Kind regards. Nadia.

Nadia, I was in Damascus one year ago. I saw Maaloula and that's incredible village. They speak still Aramic - language of Jesus. When I went to st. Sergius and Backhus monastery they told Our Father in Aramic, I was rather impressed by this language and they have wonderful homemade wine. Alas I have no idea what is going on we just had to leave. That's called lifestyle. Greetings from Tel Aviv, Nadia

Потрясающе интересно, Нора! Говорят на арамейском? Невероятно! Просто, как из легенды..... Спасибо тебе за все снимки! Привет из Кирьят Моцкина. Надя.
