It's quite eerie to look at this grave. The baby is disturbingly realistic. It's hard to come to terms wtih it, and with the unbearable grief of parents who would commission this. The abbey is partially in ruins so the lighting is natural but very subdued. It made quite an atmosphere.

This is one of those photos where the subject really does the work. Still, I thought that the angle of the light and the warm colors of the stone made for an arresting subject, so I thought I'd post it.
