Laci, gustl,

Thank you my friends!

This turned out better than I thought it would and I like that the colors didn't turn out overly saturated.

Michael.

Such rich colours need this simplicity of composition. Stunning!

Hello Michael. I love this one! I have to tell you I have a very similar shot, we probably had our tripod in the same spot. Mine is a horizontal composition though. Actually I just framed a 16x20 print yesterday for my home. I promise I did not see this one of yours before I took my own shot, I would feel uncomfortable doing a comp stomp like that anyway. Guess we have a similar eye... Jeramya :-)

Jeramya,

Probably so, You know that there are fewer and fewer places to get different shots out there in the world. The Painted Hills is slowly being fenced off from people and I understand why. In a few of my first images from here I shot up on the hill off the trail heading east from the overlook. Not anymore. Signs and fences keep you out..

I'm still waiting for the weather to warm up and the snow to stop falling so I can get out and shoot..

Michael...I also remember the long-gone days when the ranger at the Painted Hills encouraged me to ramble the valleys between the hills, as long as i didn't climb the slopes. No more though, now only the antelopes are allowed behind the fences. Alas. cheers, scott
